SUMMARY:
The Business Applications Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining MBA’s business applications, with a primary focus on integrating our Association Management System (AMS) with various 3rd party and custom applications.
Working at the direction of the CIO, and in partnership with Network Solutions, Product Development, MIS, and MBA’s vendor partners, this position will be responsible for system development, upgrades, enhancements and reactive maintenance, managed within the construct of a system development lifecycle methodology and reactive operational support services, processes and procedures.
This hands-on position requires technical competence and skills, with strong communication (both written and oral). The candidate must be able to make independent technical decisions, as well work closely with cross-functional business areas and the IT Infrastructure team to further the strategic objectives of the organization.
Candidates will combine technical competence and hands-on skills with creative problem solving abilities, and must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. It is imperative for candidates to be self-reliant and have enough technical knowledge to be able to identify and deliver efficient, sound solutions to unique and complex issues. In addition, this position requires staying abreast of current and emerging technologies.
SPECIFICATIONS:
An undergraduate degree
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a software developer
Demonstrated interest in furthering knowledge of current and emerging technologies
Knowledge with a variety of programming concepts, practices and procedures, particularly as it relates to API development and SQL stored procedures creation
Minimum of three years of experience with the following:
o Object Oriented Concepts
o SQL Programming (T-SQL preferred) and SQL Object (Tables, Views, Schemas, Functions, Stored Procedures)
o HTML/CSS
o Microsoft .NET (Core, C#, VB.net. Restful JSON Web Services, Web Apis)
o JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks (i.e., jQuery)
Strong communication skills (both written and oral)
Strong documentation skills
Ability to multi-task
Strong organizational and independent problem-solving skills
Experience working in a fast-paced, small office environment is a plus
Experience working in an association is a plus
