SDPA, the Society for Dermatology Physician Assistants seeks a highly motivated, well-organized self-starter for the position of Conference Manager. Working with member volunteers, the Conference Manager leads the organization and execution of quality in-person educational meetings and courses.
Program Management Duties and Responsibilities:
Actively support the Program Chair/Committee of in the development and implementation of CME programs.
Manage all speaker logistics to include contracting and facilitation of speaker needs
Plans and implements communications (emails, mail, phone calls) to presenters & content contributors and supports them in their efforts to create content. Tracks contracts and payments to authors.
Manage SDPA corporate housing and travel
Manages live activity logistics (room sets, AV, F&B, registration, etc.) in partnership with SDPA’s meeting planning company.
Creates appropriate timelines for timely review and execution of educational programming; and manages projects accordingly.
Serving as staff liaison for all program faculty (speakers, moderators, etc.) to include program invites, acceptances/declines, collection of CME required material, etc.
Coordination of materials required for a successful launch of the Conference App.
Work with staff across all internal departments as well as external vendors/consultants/partners that may need to be involved in the planning process, demonstrating tact and diplomacy.
Review CME activity evaluation forms and make recommendations.
Applies for AAPA CME credits and manages course CME. Maintains necessary records.
Onsite support at the SDPA live events throughout the year.
Other managerial duties as assigned by the Director.
Direct experience working with high level volunteers/committees and program management (speaker management, abstract management, etc.)
At least three (3) years’ related experience managing accredited education programs, preferably in a non-profit or professional association environment.
Experience with ACCME Accreditation Criteria.
Excellent leadership, diplomacy, critical thinking, interpersonal, problem solving, written/verbal communication, and organizational skills required.
Must pay close attention to detail and be able to take initiative, manage multiple projects simultaneously, manage a heavy workload, and work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong technical acumen essential with proficiency in MS Office and the ability to learn and apply new technologies.
Ability to travel and work off hours when needed (evening/weekend) along with the need for flexibility in arranging work schedule to accommodate volunteer’s availability.
