Compensation is commensurate with non-profit and pro sports experience in the Austin market. PRO employees are eligible to participate in a number of company-sponsored benefits including health, vision, dental and life insurance with a portion of employee premiums paid by PRO and a 401k matching program. The Membership & Engagement Manager is responsible for both the execution and strategic membership activities required to achieve the organization’s goals related to engagement, onboarding, inclusion, recruitment, and retention. The Manager is expected to deeply understand the member journey and experience and develop and execute a plan to foster and increase member engagement at all levels of the organization.
Execute and provide leadership in developing, implementing, and evaluating effective membership recruitment, retention, and inclusive engagement strategies.
Proactively steward members into learning, development and leadership opportunities (such as Member Resource Groups and Committees) and integrate member/prospect opinions, beliefs, and experiences into programming, events and activities.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of membership data, tracking, and reporting.
Prepare, manage and operate the annual Membership budget to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and availability of financial resources needed for membership-related operations.
Develop a deep understanding of the membership structure, bylaws, policies, programs, and content to appropriately address members and provide input relative to PRO’s strategic direction. Attend board meetings, committee meetings, and other events as requested.
Prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives into the associations’ overall operations.
Develop and maintain close contact with representatives of other professional sports and association-related groups to monitor industry events and trends and to enhance PRO members visibility and growth within the industry.
Stay informed on industry trends, innovations, and best practices in membership strategies, sharing with the team and championing new strategies and tools where appropriate, based on those insights.
Serve as the main point of contact with the Marketing Agency and other partners who help deliver member engagement activities.
Implement and execute special projects and programs as assigned by the CEO or Board President.

Education: High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred; OR in lieu of a degree three (3) years of association management experience.
Technical skills: Effective oral and written communication skills; including public speaking; experience with CRM and project management software (i.e. G Suite, Personify, Salesforce, Airtable); Proficiency working with technology, including Google products, is a necessity; experience with various webinar platforms (Zoom, Teams, WebEx, etc) and related hardware (cameras, mics, etc); ability to work effectively with members and staff; ability to maintain confidentiality and have a service-oriented attitude. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously; use critical thinking and implement problem-solving skills to effectively develop and organize projects. Must have an understanding of market research, statistics, and knowledge of the industry. Individual must be able to lift boxes up to forty (40) pounds.
Relevant Experience: Previous professional sports, hospitality, or association experience. Customer service is essential. Travel: At short notice, successful candidate will also be available for evening and weekend work and may travel up to twenty (20) percent of the time.

Membership Engagement: Minimum of 2-4 years of experience coordinating membership development and engagement activities, etc. in a professional, non-profit, sports, government, and/or philanthropic environment
