POSITION OBJECTIVE:
To direct the staff of the Member Services and Chapter/District Relationships in order to fulfill organizational membership and income goals for marketing, recruitment and retention of membership. (member dues represent roughly 50% of PRSA’s income.)
To manage and oversee the development of volunteer driven programs and events that drive organizational income. To manage and oversee the execution of leadership orientation for leaders including one in person event. To develop and manage various committees.
To participate as a member of the senior team, to counsel the CEO, participate in decision making regarding the day-to-day operations of the organization and give strategic input in problem solving and issue management.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, execute and measure membership recruitment campaigns conducted with PRSA Chapters, through specific prospecting programs, and/or in conjunction with PRSA program departments, with a goal of meeting annual revenue targets. Analyze ROI of membership recruitment strategies.
- Develop and oversee group membership programming including marketing, sales and retention. Analyze ROI of programs and provide direction for growth.
- Develop and execute membership retention programs and tactics including communication of member benefits, touch points for first-year members, development of incentives and member promotions. Manage telemarketing programs related to reinstatements and pledges. Analyze ROI for retention strategies.
- Prepare and manage annual membership budget.
- Supervise staff in the daily processing of new, renewing and reinstating members and develop communications to new, reinstating and renewing members.
- Ensure that daily, monthly and yearly membership statistics are maintained.
- Develop and implement customer service programs including handling of individual member and chapter calls, staff Program Incentive Pitches, other.
- Monitor and make improvements to systems and data collection processes, in collaboration with IT staff, to strengthen value and integrity of member database, increase staff productivity and provide optimum service to members and Chapters. Execute regular monitoring reports.
- Supervise relations with PRSA’s 110 Chapters and 10 Districts including day-to-day communications, monthly and biweekly Chapter communications messages, handling of daily information requests and problem resolution, development of Chapter resources and tools, preparation and monitoring of annual budget, and other Chapter related initiatives including the Diversity program.
- Manage the communications of the MyPRSA Communities. Ensure all members are adhering to the Code of Conduct and monitor their level of participation on a regular basis.
- Supervise planning, on-site execution and follow-up of annual two-day Leadership Rally to provide orientation to incoming Chapter presidents.
- Handle calls and information requests from members, chapter officers and prospects.
- Direct advance preparation, on-site execution and post-conference follow-up of Annual Conference registration including: preparation of registration materials and forms, daily relations with conference management company, setup of booth, orientation & materials for temporary help, supervision of registration booth on-site including providing information to attendees on-site, and preparation of attendance statistics.

Education: A Bachelors degree in the field of marketing, communications or business. Experience: A minimum of ten years of experience including managerial experience in membership development in a non-profit association or other member organization. Related Skills: - Previous experience with marketing and membership development, association/nonprofits, direct mail and email marketing, database management.

Other Requirements: Travel – approximately 5 to 10 days per year including weekends, as well as weekends for local events (Chapter Leadership Rally, Strategic Planning meetings, other), ability to work late on occasion. |
