POSITION PURPOSE:
This position supports National Board of Public Health Examiners in its goal of professionalizing the field of public health. It is responsible for facilitation of its public health certification programs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Managing the ongoing testing process, including identification and recruitment of subject-matter experts and coordinating item-writing and form-review meetings. Ensures that SMEs participating in these meetings are representative of the public health community in terms of education, race/ethnicity, gender, and types of work experience.
- Functions as the primary point of contact for candidates anywhere in the certification lifecycle, from prospective application to unscheduled candidate to tested candidate. Applicants for this position must be able provide extraordinary customer service.
- Oversee the recertification process which include approving recertification applications, watching rates of recertification from year to year, finding new ways to ensure certificants under the recertification process and working with providers to ensure they post their activity on the CE activity finder.
- Manage accommodations requests, failed candidates and candidates retaking the exam.
- Maintaining reports for bulk discount schools, including voucher reconciliation
- Seek new opportunities to share the value of the CPH with both employers, academic institutions and public health professionals.
- Oversee recertification process and minimize number of lapsed certificants, including manually reinstating lapsed certificants and administering extensions.
- Regularly update the website and candidate handbook as needed
- Draft quarterly newsletter and monitor activity on social media
- Exhibit at public health and partner conferences
- Support the NBPHE board of Directors of Directors and other committees
- Other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Work Locale: Ideally, candidates will work from the Washington DC office. Options for remote work form the following states: GA, MA, MD, MN, NC, TX, WA, VA.
Reports To: Reports to the President of the NBPHE
Manages/Supervises: No supervisory responsibilities.
Authority to Work in the US: The individual must be legally eligible to work in the US.
Travel Requirements: The position may involve occasional travel to, and participation in, meetings related to the position’s professional responsibilities.
Compensation: The position’s compensation level is based on industry salary surveys and the individual’s experience. NBPHE offers a generous benefits package.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree or five year’s similar work experience required
- Experience with certification programs highly desired
- Proficiency in program marketing, database management and social media a plus.
- Works independently, initiate project activities, and handle multiple tasks
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others, perform with accuracy, and effectiveness, solve problems creatively
- Exceptional customer service skills
