Association Management Center seeks a Senior Manager, Operations to join our team. This role will serve as the Director of Operations for our client, The Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (SCMR).
SCMR is the recognized representative and advocate for physicians, scientists, and technologists who work in the field of cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR). SCMR is the principal international, independent organization committed to the further development of CMR through education, quality control, research, and training. Membership has grown to over 3,000 - which includes cardiologists, radiologists, technologists, scientists, engineers and administrators from around the world.
The Senior Manager, Operations will be responsible for the successful implementation of the work performed by the AMC staff assigned to support SCMR.
Act as key AMC contact for board members, volunteers, and members.
Primary point of contact between the SCMR CEO and other AMC team members; managing projects internally, ensuring strategic objectives are being met and providing consolidated updates to the CEO regarding key initiatives.
Oversight and strategic plan implementation for Board of Directors, committees, and task forces. Overall management of board activities, development of board meeting materials including agendas and supporting reports.
Manages and administers all election processes ensuring that they are in accordance with the By-Laws, such as nominating process and call for volunteers.
Manage and administer the Scientific Session awards program.
Oversight and direction of marketing and education program design and development.
Develop and assess the annual budget in partnership with the CEO and Finance Manager. Manage the budget accordingly.
Manage development and revisions of SCMR clinical practice guidelines.
Guides the food and beverage selection for various meetings with the Meetings Manager, adhering to the budget.
Serve as a staff liaison to assigned committees and manage, implement, and administer assigned projects.
Oversight and strategic guidance of commercial support and grants.
Lead orientation for board members.
Work with CEO and legal counsel to ensure legal compliance of the organization.
Work with selected firm to conduct annual audit.
Oversee and negotiate agreements/contracts.
Review Bylaws for revisions.
Oversee CME accreditation program and consultant to ensure ACCME guidelines are being followed for accredited activities.
Establish administrative policies and procedures for headquarters functions.
Oversee planning and execution of the annual meeting.
Reports to this Position
The position is responsible for managing the client team.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
7+ years experience in association management, operations management, board development, healthcare and/or non-profit sector administration. CAE preferred.
Knowledge and experience providing staff support to volunteer or professional boards and/or committees.
Previous leadership and management experience including hiring, training, and managing direct reports.
Strong written and verbal communication; demonstrated analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to organize and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Proven customer orientation, leadership and collaboration skills.
Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to travel out of state and overnight as needed (anticipated 3-4 times per year).
