The Endocrine Society seeks a highly motivated individual to fill the position of Assistant, Publications and Content Licensing Sales. You will provide administrative support to the Society’s external sales team for the global selling and licensing of Society content, including journals, books, professional education materials, meeting session recordings, and patient education content for the entire sales lifecycle including lead generation, client support, progress reporting, contracts, event logistics, marketing coordination, and deliverables management to meet revenue goals.
What you’ll bring to the job:
Bachelor’s degree required, liberal arts, science, or business major
Medical / STM publishing and sales background, knowledge of medicine highly desired
3-5 years of work experience in a similar capacity
Understanding of and adherence to the business model and demands of the Endocrine Society as a large, global, nonprofit membership association with a broad array of commercially valuable content and products whose sale and licensing revenues fund the Society’s scientific and medical mission
MS Office and database management skills
Ability to learn new technology as required
Ability to travel and work weekends or after-hours, on occasion (less than 10%)
Excellent oral and written communications as well as presentation and strong interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment; must have a positive attitude and be able to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment

What you’ll own:
Support sales team by entering, tracking, and reporting out data on new sales leads, updated leads, clients, and contracts.
Prepare presentations and reports with sales team using Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint.
Execute licensing transactional matters once contract is signed: prepare transmittal form for invoicing, log contracts and update spreadsheets and databases, including SharePoint.
Track client payments and work with the Society’s finance department to drive payments in or troubleshoot. Alert sales team if intervention is needed for payment receivables not collected. Work with finance to maintain timely invoicing and payment procedures. Keep sales team regularly updated on clients’ payment status.
Provide follow through on tasks from sales team’s interaction with customers/clients.
Tasks include sending various samples appropriate to the individual client, pdf links, etc.
Manage the Society’s inventory of content available for licensing.
Ensure support and communication between sales team and clients. Responsibilities include:
Acknowledge and confirm emails/requests.
Client delivery liaison for files/formats, in coordination with the Society’s production team.
Work with the sales team to collaborate with the Society’s Education, Meetings, and other departments to introduce licensing sales leads for that department’s content. Participate in ideating potential content or identifying content to meet clients’ needs. This may involve doing research with Society-based or external experts.
Collaborate with the Society’s Marketing Department for following up on the sales team’s needs for marketing actions. Ensures timely registration, booth selection, and other advance logistics for book fair and trade shows, and that materials sent to shows are accurately prepared, boxed, shipped, and monitored from ship date to end destination. Tracks, proofs, and pushes marketing collateral through channels as needed.
Schedule client meetings/logistics: book fairs, other shows, and ongoing meetings throughout year.
