ASTA is seeking a Manager, Membership and Component Relations to join the membership team to actively drive impact across our community of over 7000 string educators, collegiate students and performers. This is an exciting time and the Manager will join an energetic and passionate team as we to create solutions, community and resources that meet the needs of string educators. Reporting to the Director, Meetings & Membership, the manager will administer member service programs including implementing new services focused but not exclusively on membership recruitment, and renewal along with, identifying the content, scope and cost of membership programs. The Manager is responsible for the association management system including data analytics and reporting, online community and will serve as the liaison for the ASTA chapter program. The Manager will work with the Director of Meetings and Membership and Membership coordinator to build and administer membership, chapters and the online community programs to increase engagement and with the goal of ensuring a positive experience for all individuals and ultimately a growth in membership.

Membership

Implement best strategies for stewardship, renewal and upgrading and acquiring members
Help develop and implement new membership engagement, marketing and communication programs to engage and increase membership
Oversee membership customer service process or system to ensure members are satisfied
Work with various committees and programs including membership ambassadors, mentoring committee, ASTACAP
Responsible for association management system, data analytics and reporting
Manage membership website content
Responsible for managing ASTA Connect, ASTA’s online member community
Other membership projects as assigned

Component Relations

Primary liaison for all ASTA Chapters
In collaboration with Director of Membership, provide strategic support and performance management of the organization’s chapters program - to ensure the long-term health and growth of chapters and the success of chapter volunteer leaders.
Manages chapter communications

Project Management

Manages complex projects from start to finish using project management tools and strong communication skills.
Collaborates closely with staff and leads project teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

A commitment to the mission of ASTA and a desire to positively impact the trajectory of a highly impactful, national arts membership organization

3+ years of experience in membership and/or component relations

Demonstrated commitment to embedding Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion across all internal and external stakeholder relationships

Highly polished presentation skills; an ability to communicate with influence and motivate multiple audiences; ability to quickly synthesize data

Strong relationship building skills

Strong collaborator with excellent organization and people skills, and the ability to set priorities, problem-solve, and multi-task while paying attention to detail

High degree of flexibility to work in an innovative, fast-paced environment and readily embrace change

Familiarity with IMIS and/or Higher Logic a plus

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
