Convenience Distribution Association (CDA) seeks an organized, energetic team player for Director of Administrative Services and Executive Assistant. This position oversees the administrative functions of the association and provides support to the president and CEO. CDA is a national trade association working on behalf of convenience products distributors that serve a variety of retail formats. Association members include leading convenience products manufacturers, brokers and others allied to the industry.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Plan, direct and coordinate support services of the organization
Billing and routine office operations
Coordination, preparation and execution of registration for 4-5 annual events; maintain budget tracking for association events
Manage activities related to the Board of Directors including communications, scheduling, onboarding, minutes and materials; on behalf of the president and CEO manage scheduling and materials for 2-3 committees (as assigned)
Database management, annual renewal billing of membership and quarterly advertising billing in Microsoft Dynamics CRM (training available)
Streamline operations, ensure that administrative functions run smoothly and improve the association’s organization and processes
Attend association events as staff support (Ex. Day on the Hill, State Assn Executive Summit)
Manage and provide assistance on other projects as needed
A positive attitude; team player with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer skills and interpersonal skills; with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals
Superior organizational skills, exemplary planning and time management skills and a strong attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office and be able to learn the organization’s database system and marketing tool
A high degree of responsibility, initiative and professionalism
At least five years of experience with trade associations preferred but not required
Some travel required
Primarily virtual/telework environment with 1-2 days per week in the office located in Reston, VA. Competitive full-time base salary commensurate with education and experience. Health, dental and 401(K) benefits.
