Executive Director of a State Specialty Medical Association - Indiana Chapter of American College of Emergency Physicians (INACEP). This professional initiates and maintains effective communications between staff, board of directors and membership to ensure that the association grows in influence, size and usefulness to its members. This individual organizes and actively manages financials, professional development programs, membership retention, and all other aspects of this non-profit association.
Attend State and National meetings - including but not limited to the Leadership and Advocacy meeting in Washington DC, the ACEP Scientific Assembly and the Councillor sessions prior to the Scientific Assembly.
Serve on various ACEP Committees.
Serve as a member of the INACEP Executive Committee.
Serve as a liaison between the INACEP Board and the Legislative Committee - actively working with our lobbyist.
Monitor and chart membership numbers, coordinating an annual retention program.
Monitor the INACEP Financials using Quick Books.
Monitor news media for articles that pertain to Emergency Medicine, and answer media requests - usually by referring media to a particular board member.
Work in tandem with INACEP President to secure dates, times, and locations of quarterly board meetings. Provide packets of information for these events.
Create a quarterly newsletter, the EMpulse, by soliciting articles and ads from Board members and advertisers.
Work in tandem with the INACEP Education Director to secure date, time and location of the annual INACEP educational conference. This includes working with hotels, speakers, sponsors and National ACEP's CME accreditation team.
