The Colorado Restaurant Association is seeking a Communication & Membership Coordinator to support its Communication and Membership teams as they grow front lines outreach to restaurateurs and vendors across Colorado. This person will be tasked with implementing strong communication lines to each of the Association’s local Chapters and creating a wide variety of content to support communication to members across the state. A typical day might start with a few hours of calls to check in on restaurateurs, followed by content creation for social media and emails, and finishing with organizing logistics for Chapter meetings. Reflective of the rapidly changing restaurant landscape that we find ourselves in, this role, like all others in the organization, will need to evolve quickly to tackle new obstacles, so an ability to pivot is pertinent.
Work with Chapter leadership and CRA team to manage logistics for Chapter meetings, including scheduling, speaker logistics, and email marketing.
Work with the Government Affairs, Membership, and Communication teams to write regular Chapter-specific emails for chapters.
Create and manage content for statewide membership emails, social media, website, blog, and other member-facing outlets.
Maintain a social media and blog calendar.
Contribute content to other organizational efforts, including Foundation and Association marketing efforts, press releases, and membership/sponsorship collateral.
Assist the Communication Director with various projects as needed.
Make calls to new, renewing and current members.
Assist with renewing member dues collection and follow-up.
Write content for membership materials.
Attend local chapter meetings as needed.
Represent the CRA in a professional manner within the community and at events as needed.
Contact with Others:
Considerable interaction with other staff, members, prospective members, and endorsed providers.
Moderate interaction with the CRA volunteer leadership (e.g. Board of Directors).
Day to day, this position works directly with, and reports to, the Communication Director and the VP of Strategic Partnerships.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Two years of progressive communication, marketing and/or public relations experience
Knowledge of AP Style
Previous association experience preferred
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Ability to work well within a team environment
Excellent computer skills. Must be well-versed in Microsoft Office and all social media platforms, and comfortable with learning new platforms for email, design, video editing, and more. Experience working with InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and video-editing software a plus.
Strong writing and editing skills required
Four-year college degree
Social media, public relations, content creation, or journalism experience required
