Position Summary

The Application Development Manager is responsible for the planning and managing of business application solutions projects and maintenance of implemented systems, which includes the management of the functionality of the organization’s websites and associated applications. In this role, the incumbent will interact and collaborate with team members and other NACUBO staff on applications and system issues.

Essential Functions

• Contributes to department planning processes, including annual goals and budget, project prioritization, and other governance activities.

• Manages all aspects of systems analysis, design, development, deployment, maintenance, enhancements, QA testing and training for all mission-critical applications, including portions of the association management system.

• Responsible for managing and/or overseeing projects and development efforts to integrate the NACUBO applications with Association Management System and other applications.

• Performing regular monitoring and checkups of applications and systems; and present a plan of action for maintenance and implementation of fixes and preventive measures for issues found.

• Works with the systems provider (Mindshift) to update, test, and maintain the NACUBO systems hardware, software, and certificates

• Anticipates and identifies issues that may prevent systems from meeting customer requirements and expectations, and then implement any corrective or preventative actions.

• Collaborate across the association concerning the design and development of applications and provide industry standard and best practice-based solutions and recommendations.

• Delegates work effectively, communicates expectations clearly, and provides guidance and support to the Web Specialist.

• Establishes and maintains professional working relationships with consultants and vendors/suppliers.

• Manages CMS and website related systems including Databases, Web Servers, Search Indexes, DNS, Analytics Data, Licenses and Security Certificates; and performs maintenance, system checks, backups and all necessary activates to establish smooth business operation.

• Works with the Chief Technology Officer to ensure the integrity, accuracy, reliability, and security of NACUBO corporate data and databases.

• Responsible to present project plan and manage and implement the project for system upgrades, patches updates and changes depending on the system and industry provisions.

• Stays current on knowledge of best practices and technology solutions of interest to NACUBO as well as remain highly technically competent in all levels of implemented technologies

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

This position works in a professional office environment. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copiers. This position works in a climate-controlled environment, but internal office temperatures may fluctuate.

Physical Demands

1. Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds occasionally.
2. To perform the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee may frequently be required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to type, handle or feel, and reach with arms and hands.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time regular position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. This position may be eligible for an alternate work arrangement (i.e., flextime), please refer to the Employee Handbook for details. There may be occasional evening and weekend work as job duties or projects require it.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, however, some out of the area travel and overnight may be expected.
