HIDA is seeking a creative Communications Specialist/Writer to work on online and print publications. As the Communications Specialist/Writer, you’ll be responsible for e-newsletters, press releases, and blog posts. This team member also will offer ideas and support to other key areas including social media, bimonthly print magazine, and website content development. This position will work with support from the Communications Director to develop editorial planning and execute content. The Communications Specialist/Writer must be able to successfully lead projects from start to finish against tight deadlines.
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills for working with a variety of stakeholders, a solid grasp of grammar, a keen interest in learning about business and/or healthcare topics, demonstrated skill in balancing multiple projects, and be able to write crisply and cleanly. The ability to translate technical language into meaningful and understandable copy a plus.
One or more years of experience in some or all of the skills required for this position. Bachelor’s degree required with concentration helpful in journalism, public relations, communications, media or related field.
