The American Urological Association (AUA), the premier urologic association providing support to the urologic community, is currently searching for a detail-oriented candidate for our Statistician/Data Manager position.
The Data Operations Manager position is designed to implement a strategic plan for monitoring data collection and analysis in order to support the practice and profession of urology and improve patient outcomes and public health. The Manager will review clinical or other medical research protocols and recommend appropriate statistical analyses. This work will produce a variety of documents (position papers, research reports, slide sets, talking points, and summaries of data) for knowledge dissemination on key issues of interest to urology. Duties also include using AUA data registries to analyze clinical data using statistical approaches such as longitudinal analysis, mixed effect modeling, logistic regression analyses, and model building techniques.
The individual in this position will:
Assist in exploring and accessing internal data bases.
Review clinical or other medical research protocols and recommend appropriate statistical analyses.
Determine project plans, timelines, or technical objectives for statistical aspects of biological research studies.
Prepare statistical data for inclusion in reports to data monitoring committees, federal regulatory agencies, managers, or clients.
Coordinate closely with Information Systems (IS) Department to jointly determine the feasibility and burden of storing data on AUA systems and how and by whom it should be accessed.
Provide statistical support to the AUA staff, members, departments and committees as a data resource.

To be Successful
Candidates must be able to provide superior service delivery while working in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. It is essential that the individual in this role have strong organizational and communication skills. In addition:
MA/MS in biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology, or other disciplines with strong quantitative training required.
Two plus years of full-time work experience in statistical analysis.
Familiarity with statistical packages such as SPSS, SAS and STATA.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience working with health insurance claims, electronic health records, health administrative databases, and national health surveys desired.
High-quality and detail-oriented self-motivator with good working attitude and the ability to accomplish multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
Outstanding written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
May be required to work some evenings and weekends and to travel occasionally.
