The External Engagement Coordinator provides operational support to all related activities, member leaders and external stakeholders associated with the organization’s External Engagement relationships and partners. The Coordinator helps raise awareness about EO externally, to position the organization as a thought leader in entrepreneurship, and to advance the organization’s goals through strategic partnerships with other non-profit, NGO, and governmental groups. Working closely with the External Engagement team, this position will support critical components of strategy for engaging with external audiences and stakeholders in a deep, meaningful way.
The External Engagement Coordinator also drives awareness efforts of External Relations within EO by providing tactical support to chapters and regions, promoting External Relations activities to member leaders and EO staff and maintaining all training and promotional materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports the team Director on the review of potential relationships with external organizations and works on an action plan for each relationship.
Supports EO’s Sustainable Development Goals Initiative as needed.
Manages requests from International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) visits to EO headquarters.
Manages external stakeholder database, maintains the External Relations calendar and team activity log.
Updates team budget according to project expenditures and files invoices/receipts and member expense reports.
Supports screening of local and regional organizations by providing guidance and resources on EO’s best practices on engaging with external partners.
Tracks EO external engagement activities at regional and chapter levels
Supports the External Relations Sub-committee by scheduling monthly calls, collecting agenda items and coordinating agenda, taking notes and administrative support during meetings, and manages communications to sub-committee members.
Maintains communications with External Relations sub-committee members through email and updates information on Samepage dashboard.
Provides External Engagement content for EO publications, including EO Engage newsletter, and reviews information related to existing partnerships within EO (members, staff, chapters, and regions) through available EO channels.
Supports the planning and execution of the Global Citizen of the Year Award program through promotion within EO, managing communications with nominees and winner, and coordinates selection process with judges
Supports the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) team with partnerships, newsletter inclusions, and other administration of the GSEA program
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in any field.
1-2 years professional experience in nonprofits, associations, international organizations, or NGOs.
International experience (whether through work or personal).
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Bilingual or multilingual speaking abilities preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, the ability to think on your feet, and being solution-oriented.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the all levels of stakeholders.
Ability to interact with entrepreneurs with tact, diplomacy, and poise.
Project management skills, preferred.
Experience working with entrepreneurs, preferred.
Works harmoniously and effectively with others as part of a team.
A self-starter who desires to show ownership and commitment to the job.
Exercises confidentiality and discretion.
The employee is normally required to work in a high-rise building equipped with elevators in an environment where the noise level is usually moderate. May be assigned to an internal work space without windows to the outside, located in close proximity to other office personnel.
Professional workplace where business and business casual attire is required.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 5-10% of the time.
Ability to work in a fast paced and high pressure environment.
Flexibility in work schedule, adjusting standard work hours to accommodate a global staff in supporting conference calls outside of standard business hours.
