As part of the Corn Refiners Association, the Vice President, Advanced Bio-Products and Executive Director, Plant Based Products Council (PBPC) leads development and execution of strategies to design and introduce private sector programs and public policies to encourage adoption of corn based advanced bio-products. The Vice President manages the Advanced Bio-Products Committee activities and budgets as well as aligning strategies for the PBPC.
The position is responsible for strategies that promote advanced bio-products and it requires private sector engagement, policy development, advocacy support and serves also as the primary staff contact for eNGO outreach. Additionally, the position will lead strategic direction, content development and member engagement for the PBPC.
Key elements of the position include research and development of policy papers, talking points and relevant industry updates to Association members and CRA leaders.
The position will monitor, evaluate, analyze and report on government policies, regulations, trends, impacts, threats and opportunities, providing strategic insights and recommendations to the CEO, Board of Directors and Committees of importance.
As part of these responsibilities, the position will build and maintain relationships with government agencies, non-profits and academia along with trade association and corporate industry allies in order to advance CRA priority issues.
A Bachelor's degree is required along with experience in policy advocacy and sustainability for an industry where sustainability is a core strategic element. Strong communication skills coupled with program management success is critical. A strategic and tactical plan development and implementation background is necessary for full impact. Additionally, the individual should have at least 10 years of experience in a leadership advocacy role, preferably with an association in Washington, D.C. Matrix management skills are a plus along with team collaborative skills.
