This position reports under our for-profit entity Solutions for Association Management, Inc. (SAMI) serving our association management clients.
Responsible for managing the work of our client organizations at the direction of their Boards of Directors and committees to facilitate the development and achievement of goals, objectives and annual plans. Provides leadership and guidance for and execution of client work. Gives sound financial management, grows revenue and membership, develops non-dues revenue, fundraises, and provides overall leadership and general supervision for the daily operations of the associations assigned.
Develops and implements strategic goals and objectives of our association clients. Provides leadership and direction. Establishes an annual work plan to support their strategic plans and makes consistent and timely progress towards goal/initiative completion and regularly communicates such progress/completion.
Serves as the staff liaison to clients’ Board of Directors and committees. Develops agendas and provides leadership and guidance in meetings and ensures expectations are met. Ensures all action items from board and committee meetings are executed and minutes of meetings are completed in a timely manner.
Executes committee work with the support of the SAMI Project Coordinator and the various department staff.
Guides day-to-day operations and activities both internally and externally.
Working with the appropriate committees, manages the successful development and execution of educational programs. Establishes timelines. Manages the content development process, including faculty invitations, call for session ideas and associated correspondence. Works with the meeting planner to ensure the seamless execution of logistics. Secures providers/platform for distance learning. Oversees registration. Secures exhibits. Coordinates the production of program materials and works closely with marketing and communications to produce timely marketing materials and communications. Secures continuing education credits. Establishes process and secures documentation in compliance with accrediting agencies.
Responsible for executing the clients’ fundraising program. Sets annual goals. Motivates volunteers. Cultivates relationships with corporate and member donors. Establishes a process and mechanism for recognizing donors. Works closely with marketing and communications to produce timely marketing materials and communications. Tracks progress.
Working with appropriate committees, manages the development and execution of non-dues revenue activities. Collects data on need. Determines cost benefit. Establishes budgets and timelines. Secures appropriate contractual agreements. Works closely with marketing and communications to produce timely marketing materials and communications. Tracks progress.
Works with clients to develop the annual budget. Works with Finance Department to ensure timely creation of financial statements are completed and reported to client.
Travels to meetings to manage onsite registration, educational activities, and management and staff support for client board and committee meetings.
Minimum of five years of senior association management experience.
Experience in project management, leading boards and/or committees. Medical society management experience a plus.
Intermediate-level knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and AMS system software.
Ability to travel a minimum of 10%.
