The Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS) is a 501 (c)3 nonprofit organization that is advancing the profession of parks, recreation and leisure services in Texas and nationwide, and is a champion for engaged communities, wellness lifestyles and greenspaces.
The Board of Directors is seeking a new Executive Director that is a dynamic, entrepreneurial, visionary leader with a passion for the Parks and Recreation industry, has experience working in the public sector and/or non-profit organizations and has a heart for advocating the mission and values of what TRAPS embodies.
The ideal candidate shall have the ability to inspire and motivate others, and possess exceptional management, financial, and organizational skills. Experience working in event planning, association management, membership growth and retention, strategic planning, and fundraising are key traits for leading this growing organization.
Candidates shall have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Parks and/or Recreation Management, or related field, and a Master’s Degree. A minimum of 8 years of increasingly responsible work experience in providing management services, including 5 years of administrative/supervisory responsibility is expected. Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP), Certified Park and Recreation Executive (CPRE) and/or Certified Association Executive (CAE) credentials are ideal.
