NAHB is seeking experienced candidate for NAHB’s Labor Safety and Health Policy Department. Functions performed by this position include the creation and delivery of safety education/training and OSHA compliance information, analyzing a variety of key occupational safety and health issues that impact the residential construction industry, and assisting in the preparation of regulatory comment letters and performing related regulatory advocacy work before the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of the construction industry and current construction safety (OSHA) regulations. Qualified candidates must also be familiar with developing quality construction safety education materials and analyzing occupational safety and health federal statutes, regulations, regulatory guidance documents and policies. Knowledge of the federal rulemaking process is a must. Candidates must also have excellent written, verbal, and analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines.
A minimum of two to five years of experience in the development of safety educational materials is preferred. A Bachelor’s degree in the safety management, construction management, or loss control, or comparable experience and education, is required.
