The Primary Goal of the Senior Marketing Coordinator/Digital Specialist position is to support the Marketing Department in promoting PDA offerings across all departments. The Senior Marketing Coordinator/Digital Specialist is responsible for editing, writing, and executing marketing communications, particularly focusing on online tactics that reflect the characteristics of the PDA brand considering target market segments and revenue and expense objectives. The Senior Marketing Coordinator/Digital Specialist is a savvy direct marketer who understands how to use print and electronic media in ways that reduce promotional cost and generate increased return on investment.
The Senior Coordinator is a dynamic marketer who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is a professional who works collaboratively with a diverse group of product line managers to create and manage cross-organizational, integrated marketing strategies. The Senior Coordinator/Digital Specialist will facilitate the development of promotional concepts, copy for both web and print and package designs.
Specifically, the Senior Coordinator/Digital Specialist will oversee and manage online promotional strategies, analyze and report on electronic efforts, write dynamic and SEO optimized copy for the web, and recommend improvements based on analysis of marketing, sales, and competitive data. Keys to the success of this position are: organization, flexibility, diplomacy, and the ability to work both independently and concurrently with a number of internal clients and external vendors.
Additional Responsibilities include:
Policy Formulation: Works with department manager and others in the development of organizational marketing communication processes and brand/image guidelines.
Planning: Responsible for maintaining and communicating organizational marketing communication schedules. Assists in the development of organizational marketing strategies. Identifies opportunities to cross-promote PDA activities/products in an effort to enhance visibility, reduce costs, and increase overall conversions.
Decision Authority: Responsible for day-to-day management of organizational marketing communications process, including close relationships with production teams, vendors, product managers, and other marketers.
Budgetary Responsibility: Responsible for input into the development of specific marketing promotional expense budgets and management of said budgets, including costs related to outsourced services. Track expenses and revenue budgets for key product lines for which this position has responsibility for managing/promoting.
This position also requires the following relationships with the PDA membership, external organizations, and other PDA staff:
Membership: Direct interaction with PDA members required during major PDA events and other activities, mostly with the context of obtaining marketing research that enhances promotional efforts.
Other Organizations: May interact with collaborating/partnering organizations in joint – promotional campaigns as required.
Other PDA Staff: Works extensively in an independent, cross- organizational mode. Must possess effective communication skills for building consensus and implementing change.
Qualifications/Experience: To perform the essential functions of this position and the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
Experience in SEO, PPC, digital advertising, email marketing.
Proficiency in web analytics (Google Analytics) is required; a working knowledge and understanding of digital marketing analytics tools is preferred; understanding of Google Tag Manger is a plus.
Demonstrate exceptional promotional copywriting and editing skills and attention to detail.
Show an ability to communicate creative concepts and strategies to a diverse range of product managers with varying knowledge of marketing concepts and execution.
Demonstrate expertise and results in creating and evaluating print and electronic marketing communications efforts in a fast, high-volume atmosphere.
Understand how to analyze and interpret marketing and sales data, particularly with regard to digital efforts.
Create, test, and evaluate new approaches for promoting products, services, and the Association.
Candidates must have a thorough understanding of and experience with paid and organic campaigns on social platforms, including LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube.
Candidates must have strong fundamental Internet marketing skills across multiple channels, including an understanding of digital outreach, marketing strategy, and tactics.
Excellent analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills are required.
A BS/BA degree in Marketing, Communications or a related area from a four-year college or university is required.
Proficiency with basic office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat. Experience with bulk email platforms is preferred. Some knowledge of HTML is desired. Basic graphic design skills a plus.
