Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards (“CFP Board”) – headquartered in Washington, D.C. – is the certifying body for financial planning professionals. It is a non-profit organization that fosters professional standards in personal financial planning through its setting and enforcement of the education, examination, experience, ethics, and other requirements for the CFP® certification.
CFP Board seeks a highly motivated team player to serve as Manager, Corporate Diversity & Inclusion Programs. The Manager will provide ongoing outreach to mid-size and large financial services firms to engage and promote D&I strategies that support a diverse and inclusive workforce of CFP® professionals. This position exists to increase the number of CFP® professionals who are African American or Latino.

Builds partnerships with business and HR leaders to identify, recommend, and implement D&I campaigns that grow the number of racially diverse CFP® professionals. Partners with firms on diversity campaigns to further identify and engage underrepresented talent in the CFP program.
Partners with Managing Director, Corporate Relations in firm outreach and cultivation efforts; provides feedback to key CFP Board staff from firm partners
Partners with the Center for Financial Planning on diversity and workforce development programs
Leverages metrics, data and trend analytics to provide insights to HR and business leaders so they can build impactful D&I plans and actions for their business/function
Keeps up-to-date on latest academic diversity research and best practices
Partners with internal stakeholders to develop and refine strategies for outreach to colleges/universities, ethnic professional organizations, other diversity organizations to create relationships and a pipeline of candidates
Collaborates with Marketing department and Center staff to produce materials to support cultivation and outreach such as collaterals, website content and one-off pieces to support business relationship efforts
Collaborates with the Communications department and Center staff to create communications and key messaging materials which spotlight program successes for internal and external audiences
Develops and provides relevant content on blogs, webinars, virtual job fairs and other communication initiatives such as presentations for staff and senior leadership.
Tracks, evaluates, and reports on the effectiveness of diversity activities; reports on milestone progress toward strategic priorities
Performs other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, human resources or closely-related fields; CFP® certification is highly desired
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a professional services environment preferred (ideally financial services)
Subject matter expertise in the field of Diversity and Inclusion; experience with talent management processes a plus
Experience partnering with senior staff, resulting in the development and implementation of creative talent acquisition strategies
Demonstrated success with assessing and connecting business strategies with diversity and inclusion programs/initiatives
Demonstrated success leading through influence, leveraging relationships and interpersonal skills to drive for results
Demonstrated ability to conduct and interpret quantitative/qualitative data
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong public speaking skills, group facilitation skills and executive presence
Highly skilled in adaptability, critical thinking, and collaboration/teamwork
Knowledge and experience in using MS Office and Salesforce
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Collaborative mindset and ability to structure mutually beneficial partnerships
Ability to take personal responsibility and ownership for delivering on organizational commitments
Significant travel required
