Georgia School Boards Association is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Director of Member Engagement. Under the direction of the GSBA Executive Director, and in accordance with the policies of the Georgia School Boards Association, the GSBA Member Engagement Director is responsible for effectively implementing and executing the member engagement initiative with an emphasis on membership development as it relates to helping members achieve board development goals, fully utilize services of the association, build stronger relationships with members and districts, assess member satisfaction, and project management.
This position will develop and implement strategies to engage, enhance and impact GSBA members; deepen member involvement and provide support with consistency; work with communications and all program departments to connect programs across GSBA to all members; and, will support GSBA District Directors in engaging and supporting members within their districts.
The Member Engagement Director must focus on excellence in every aspect of member services & training, and across the organization as a whole, working in constant collaboration with all branches and the GSBA staff.
Primary duties and responsibilities
Lead, oversee and implement the Member Engagement Strategy focused on providing high level member services, assisting members in achieving their goals, building strong relationships with members, and supporting a deeper sense of support for effective governance.
Utilizing the GSBA Member Participation Score, monitor member relations and satisfaction; recommend solutions and enhancements to increase satisfaction.
Work closely with all departments to create, implement and measure association-wide programs and protocols for greatest member impact.
Survey all members for member experience and satisfaction.
Coordinate, implement, and evaluate selected special promotions and events for members.
Oversee Association District Meetings and district events in collaboration with the District Director.
Facilitate communication between department directors and member engagement.
Display and model best practices for Member Engagement by providing enthusiastic, high quality service through active listening, relationship-building and positive interactions.
As appropriate, serve as a representative on any Association Committee.
Be intentional about engaging all members.
Stay informed and up-to-date on the latest developments in the education field.
Prepare and submit reports as requested.
GSBA offers a comprehensive competitive benefit package including:

Paid major medical and dental coverage (employee only) with deductible and/or co-pay up to $1,500 per calendar year. The Association offers additional supplemental insurance. Employees are responsible for all supplemental insurance premiums
$25,000 life insurance (employee only)
Ten (10) annual leave days per year (5/6 day per month) cumulative to 30 days
Fifteen (15) sick days per year (1 ¼ days per month) cumulative to 90 days
Three (3) personal days per year (July 1 to June 30) non-cumulative
Wholesale Club Membership – Reimbursement for up to $30 per year for membership

Specific qualifications include:
A bachelor's degree in communications, sociology, marketing or related field, or its equivalent, is desired, and 4-5 years professional experience.
High level of written, oral and people-oriented communication skills and the ability to work independently and handle numerous projects concurrently.
Experience and ability with/to use social media and/or technology to engage, inform and communicate to members.
Ability to establish positive relationships with community organizations in support of member initiatives.
Strong skills and initiative in planning, organizing and completing projects affecting a large number of members.
