Description: Using XML, HTML, and content management tools, oversees the online posting process for the timely and high-quality publication of RSNA journals online. Working closely with key editorial, production, and online publication staff, ensures that all online content for the five RSNA journal websites meets high standards.
Responsible for all XML and PDF changes to papers in online staging. Works with proofreaders to communicate changes to the production team and makes any needed XML corrections prior to posting. Confirms that all XML metadata is correct.
Moves papers from staging to live following each journal's regular posting schedule. Checks error logs for problems, making XML corrections as needed. Works with production team to update journal homepages for each posting. Creates HTML supplement file pages and "digital object" pages as needed to coincide with postings.
Manages online posting schedule for all journals, working with Sheridan, managing editors, and production to make sure all components of papers are ready for weekly postings.
Makes pre- and postproduction changes to articles as directed by managing editors.
Tracks all administrative tasks related to online articles and communicates to other parties as needed (e.g., PubMed Central deposits, PubMed corrections, press releases, free and open access articles, FundRef registry, CrossRef deposits, CME articles).
Works with Senior Manager: Online Production to make changes and create new journal webpages.
Works with the podcast team to prepare podcasts for posting.
Enter tickets with journal website vendor as needed to report problems or request enhancements to the site. Responds and updates tickets to keep projects on track.
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum 3 years of experience with online publishing; scholarly publishing preferred
Detail-oriented with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment, with exceptional time-management skills to ensure deadlines are met
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of XML and HTML, experience with InDesign a plus
Experience with Atypon admin tool a plus
