The National Association of Homes Builders (NAHB) is seeking a Director, Online Services, who will contribute to NAHB’s technology vision. The Director will also provide leadership in the development and implementation of NAHB’s online offerings, custom applications, as related to NAHB’s websites, business functions, and member needs. The Director is the primary technical point of contact for the creation of any new web service activities for NAHB, as well as the technical contact and owner/administrator of any existing social media accounts. This person maintains an awareness of emerging social media technologies and guides the association to take advantage of new tools and platforms that will help NAHB advance its mission.
The workload includes scope and scheduling of new tools, management of the ecommerce store, project management for special releases, internal and external communications with constituents, site analysis, and research and strategic visioning. The Director will manage a staff and act as the lead of the Online Services team and coordinate with other departments to meet their business needs through existing technologies and new technologies. The Director also manages the software development and documentation of existing and new technologies to meet NAHB’s IT online goals and objectives.
Qualified candidates will possess strong leadership, communication, and customer services skills. Candidates should have a strong understanding of the Internet and Internet-related technologies, including accessibility issues and standards. Candidates should have proven project management skills and development/project life-cycle skills, including QA facilitation and launch. The ability to plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines is a must. Candidates should also have the ability to drive technical analysis, design, and development of complex application/sub components, leveraging current and emerging technologies.
A minimum of eight years of people and project management experience, with an emphasis on online communications, CMS tools, and work on large websites is required. Candidates should also have a strong knowledge of online communications. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or the equivalent education and work experience, is required.
