The Director of Member Engagement is responsible for strategizing, driving and overseeing the association’s member engagement as it pertains to association programs, events and services. The Director reviews and recommends process and procedures, policies and programming and services to promote member engagement, recruitment and retention, as well as supporting the association’s strategic vision and objectives as set forth by the volunteer leadership, CEO and VP of Operations. In addition, the Director of Member Engagement will be strongly focused on ensuring there is accurate method of data collection and technological infrastructure in place to strengthen ASA’s ability to effectively connect, and ensure efficient delivery of ASA’s mission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the VP of Operations ability to effectively strategize and successfully accomplish the goals and objectives established by the association leadership.
Develop, implement and oversee program budgets to ensure association success.
Deliver a national multi-year plan to build a highly successful membership recruitment and development effort in all membership classes. by
Drive improvement in Member Engagement as measured by rising Member survey results, increased usage of ASA products & services, a broadening of the Member companies’ volunteer commitments, and other metrics to be determined.
Maintain a robust and accurate database in order to provide effective and consistent outreach.
In addition to using current programs and activities to engage members; define, develop and drive new multi-faceted programs and services.
Collaborate with key staff to ensure a successful delivery of programs, services and recruitment campaigns.
Work with volunteers to ensure successful and relevant programs and services.
Proven track record for hitting deadlines.
Oversee planning and promotion of educational forums and programs.
Meet or exceed Membership recruitment and retention goals annually.
All other duties as assigned by the CEO.
Some travel requied.
Undergraduate degree with 2-3 years’ experience in of member engagement, recruitment and retention and communications and/or relevant private sector experience.
Experience in a trade association or professional society a plus.
Experience in the plumbing-heating-cooling-piping (PHCP) and industrial pipe-valve-fitting (PVF) distribution industry a plus.
Strong, articulate communicator and relationship builder.
Effective project manager.
Self-motivated, team oriented and excellent interpersonal skills.
Excellent written, interpersonal, planning and organizational skills.
Strong collaboration and mediation skills among internal and external stakeholders.
Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, and Power Point, in particular).
