The Membership Account Manager develops and executes a proactive membership strategy to continue to engage our current members and manage and strengthen relationships to increase retention.
Essential Duties of Position
Responsible for retention of specific members and overall retention rates
Monitors and scores member company involvement in the Association and shares relevant information with AdvaMed staff
Responsible for having detailed knowledge of specific set of member organizations. Includes understanding what these members produce, their needs, and challenge areas. Must be able to effectively communicate how AdvaMed can assist with challenge areas. Acts as liaison to members who seek assistance in accessing AdvaMed staff.
Strengthens relationships with existing member organizations. Promotes AdvaMed’s policy work and key wins that impact member organizations. Promotes AdvaMed Purchasing Group and Events and Education programs well as custom events for training. Promotes MedTech Conference and sponsorship opportunities.
Must develop strong knowledge of AdvaMed’s policy work and other services. Must stay in tune with current policy work and AdvaMed wins.
Identify under-engaged areas of member organization. Identify contacts within that area and then connect them with appropriate policy area. Coordinates with other internal departments to ensure member companies are encouraged to engage in policy issues and development.
Manage and update contact information within member companies. Must grow contacts counts and develop new relationships within member organizations.
Must connect with procurement leaders at member organization and regularly promote AdvaMed Purchasing Group
Deliver quarterly and semi-annual business value reviews with members to articulate AdvaMed benefits to member organizations
Prepare and maintained Member Summary Sheets available to all AdvaMed employees
Provides regular updates and feedback on member issues and opportunities to Director or Membership
Directly involved with annual membership renewal process, including developing targeted retention letters and company specific engagement activities to key membership segments
Assists as needed in coordinating programming and overseeing logistics for quarterly Board meetings, or providing additional support to senior leadership by monitoring Board member committees and leadership
Travel Requirements: 25%
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Experience communicating with C-Suite and/or executives at Fortune 500 level organizations
Proven relationship builder with the ability to quickly earn the respect of multiple constituencies, both internally and externally
An understanding of and ability to position discussions related to member services at both the strategic and tactical levels
Project management experience with the ability to manage and oversee multiple projects, working collaboratively with other staff and departments to accomplish successful results on deadline and on budget
Exceptional writing and oral communication skills, including persuasive communication
Solid management skills and ability to work in a small team
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others
Excellent creative thinking
Experience in business development and revenue generation is required
Exceptional organizational skills, high attention to detail, good analytical skills
Knowledge of concepts of relational database systems
Strong marketing skills
Familiarity with Internet capabilities
Proficient in the use of relevant Microsoft Office Suite software
Financial experience is helpful, but not required
Ability to manage multiple and complex priorities with tight deadlines
Working knowledge of medical device organizations, policy, and issues is helpful but not required
Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's degree; Advanced degree, MBA, or CAE helpful, but not required
Minimum Experience Required: 8+ years in a membership-oriented association or have enterprise level B2B sales experience to C-Suite at global organizations.
