This position directs the financial operations of a $16 million national trade association and an affiliated foundation. This position reports to the President/CEO and is a member of the senior leadership team coordinating and supporting finance, human resources, information services, office administration and purchasing.
Finance: Primary oversight of internal controls and cost-effective financial processes; budgeting and forecasting; cost management in alignment with the strategic plan; cash and investment management; accurate and timely financial reporting; external audit; tax filings; retirement plan committees; and interface with the board and executive committee.
Human Resources: Ensures compliance with federal and D.C. regulations and requirements; evaluates, contracts for, and oversees the employee benefit plans; provides leadership in the areas of salary administration, talent management and performance review.
Information Technology: Oversees development of IT systems to support programs and activities, provide security and business continuity planning.
Office Administration: Negotiates office lease and oversees facilities management. Oversees risk management and business insurance plans. Ensures sound contracts for telephone system, copiers and other business equipment.
Staff Management: Develop and provide managerial support and guidance to the accounting and office management staff.
CPA, CMA, MBA, MS or other advanced degree in accounting and/or finance
Eight-plus years of experience as a high-level controller, director of finance, chief financial officer or recent related experience with a public accounting firm
High level technology skills as they relate to accounting, work flows, data management and analytics
Out-of-town travel two to three times per year
