With our strong staff and volunteer organization, our next executive leader will focus on the growth, recognition and fiscal strength of our group. The NTMA strategy involves national-level influence and initiatives in work force development, member support and growth. We have goals for new members and chapter support, for team development and fiscal sustainability, and for our investments and outcomes. You have a relevant history of performance, and you have a track record of achievements to prove it. You’ll have manufacturing background, hopefully machining, including involvement in industry and trade groups, and have know-how to enlist members, suppliers, government and others to rally together.
Experience and strong knowledge of machined components used in such applications as pumps, valves, hydraulics, instrumentation, commercial aerospace and/or other similar industry segments is required. You may have experience from another association or group having built multiple sites and member groups. Either way, you support US manufacturing and the entrepreneurial business owners who own and operate them.

Connected and respected among the global machining industry supply chain, including cutting machine, tooling, work holding and tool holding companies, component and system machining companies, coolant technologies and others.
Actively targeting and pursuing growth – through new members in existing chapter areas, as well as development of new chapter areas and developmental markets, aligned with our strategic plan.
Strong relation to the next generation, specifically in leadership development, values and personal growth.
Detailed budgetary and financial management history – this role is ultimately responsible for the financial and administration of the organization and all its employees and suppliers. The financial management and controls of the organization are supported by a fiduciary Financial Officer and a Budget and Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees.
Entrepreneurially “hunting” opportunities, - for the association and its companies, focused daily efforts attending chapter meetings, in contact with chapter executives and officers, and in collaboration with NTMA national staff.
Deep understanding of the NTMA member supply chain – interact at senior executive officer levels amid the suppliers and partners of our members, who are often NTMA sponsors or potential sponsors.
Rallying personality to develop support around members – build the member-NTMA relationship at multiple levels and roles to create relationships, and to deepen them into member firms for our future.
Organizing and assembling programs for chapters and member groups to build support and engagement in NTMA on local levels.
Aggressive networking both domestically & globally - working alongside our operations and leadership to develop a book of accounts and contacts that might benefit from product diversification.
Qualifications and Skills
An ethically dedicated representative of your organization – serving the needs of members and staff every day. You are a collaborative, open communicator.
Relentless, persistent, action-oriented focus on moving into, up, down, and through organizations to recruit and serve members. You have a personal executive work ethic but you’ll do whatever it takes.
An engineering or business, marketing, association management, or like degree or equivalent experience. Graduate education desired in a relevant area of concentration. 5+ years of proven sales experience (with revenue generation and commission (performance income).
Engineering literacy is essential to understand the connections and interplay of technologies and commercial opportunities, alike. Some manufacturing and/or engineering literacy or familiarity will be necessary – either developmentally or perhaps in prior career roles.
Additional Salary Information: - Base, expenses, full benefits.
50-75% based upon KPI achievement.
