As NIGP’s Content Editor, provides editing, copyediting and print/online production support for all NIGP content. The Content Editor works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to oversee the Quality Control of NIGP products. Responsible for the editing and project management of all NIGP textbooks, including revisions and re-writes, as well as all collateral materials that support NIGP’s educational offerings. The Content Editor also assists with the production of content-related materials for NIGP’s meetings and events throughout the year.
Your Key Responsibilities are:
Quality Control: Edit and manage contributions across multiple education products. Cross reference all educational products to ensure consistency of content. Review and recommend published materials and research for potential inclusion in course content. Manage copyright and ISBN process and all intellectual property documentation. Manage third party supplier relations including graphic artists, printers and author agreements.
Project Management of Textbooks and Supplemental Education Materials: Administer and manage author agreements for textbooks. Project manage textbook revisions, re-writes and new publications. Monitor textbook inventory.
Educational Program Development (Annual Forum & Specialized Conferences): Assess annual meeting workshop topics to ensure all content is relevant. Manage notification process for submissions. Research, contact and secure potential speakers for annual meeting. Distribute templates and materials to presenters. Research and propose content for specialized conferences. Assist with schedule coordination for specialized conferences. Collaborate with marketing & communications team to ensure consistent brand messaging.
Your Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Your Minimum Qualifications are:
Qualified candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English or related field or equivalent experience and a minimum of five years professional experience
Advanced knowledge of AP style writing and copy editing a must
Ideal candidate will have advanced Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop etc.) skills, along with strong project management skills with a proven record of meeting deadlines while managing multiple projects
Experience in program development with a focus on quality control
Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects concurrently
Ability to understand and analyze complex material in a wide range of technical areas in public procurement and ensure effective and consistent communication of same
Interpersonal skills needed to interact with and elicit cooperation of internal staff and external SMEs, reviewers, and other experts in developing publications
