The American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators (ASOA) is the premier organization for the business side of the ophthalmic practice whose mission is to advance the skills and professionalism of ophthalmic management. Serving administrators, managers, physicians, and office staff – ASOA offers avenues for personal and professional growth and provides support, tools, and resources for the daily challenges of managing a practice. ASOA is an affiliate of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS).
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Under direction of the ASOA Executive Director, plans, executes, and achieves successful completion of assigned association initiatives providing appropriate tracking and reporting.
Manage multiple committees, task forces, and online communities.
Manage email marketing, e-newsletters, and other electronic communications.
Manage online learning center.
Manage member/prospective member database in AMS.
Manage Association’s membership benefits plan including regular review/evaluation and make appropriate recommendations.
Develop and implement data analysis reporting mechanisms for membership/other assigned projects.
Develop and execute member acquisition and retention strategies and identify trends in membership recruitment and retention.
Explore new ways of soliciting input from members to ensure ASOA remains relevant and in touch.
Assist team members with administrative duties as assigned.
Experience, Knowledge, and Skill Requirements:
Solid understanding of Association membership, strategic planning, and project management.
Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop innovative solutions.
Experience with Salesforce platform, AMS software, HTML, and on-line community management experience desired.
Familiarity with web analytics tools and social media platforms
Ability to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment.
Ability to prioritize, adjust priorities as needed, and meet deadlines.
Ability to interact tactfully, but in a goal driven manner, with large volunteer contingency.
Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
Ability to read, interpret and logically apply information.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with attention to detail.
Ability to work in a team environment, but also be a self-starter, energetic, forward-thinking, creative, and think outside the box.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn other software systems as required.
Education and Training Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required
4+ years in planning, management, and delivery of successful association initiatives.
2+ years Association experience in a membership environment
