The person we hire as a sales rep in our Commercial Division will have three to 10 years of outside sales experience in commercial printing, print-related services and/or digital solutions for the association industry. But you won’t just sell printing – you will determine and sell solutions that meet associations’ media needs in reaching their audiences. You must shine at acquiring new business and creating relationships with key decision makers in the association industry.
Being home-based, you must be able to work independently, remotely, and to travel. You need strong verbal and written communication skills.
3-10 years proven sales experience
Primary experience needed is in both sales and association operations, having a history of either selling to associations or working within associations.
Proven consultative sales experience in Publishing, Membership and Marketing Solutions for non-profit associations; technology-related or research sales is a plus.
Must have prior experience in sales in any of the following key areas: Print, Membership Development Assessment and Strategy, Membership strategy and growth, Content Assessment and Strategy (multi-channel context), Mobile Applications, Digital Commerce, Social Marketing, Data-Driven Marketing, Digital Marketing Programs, Multichannel Marketing, Digital Marketing Essentials, Digital Marketing Programs and Fulfillment.
Existing relationships within the association industry that can be leveraged to open opportunities and communicate product offering is a major plus.
Ability to build credibility quickly with new clients; relationship should be developed at the highest level and then with other key stakeholders.
Proven experience in prospecting and developing new business, by effectively building prospect association lists and strong ability to ensure the transition from prospects to clients.
Proven experience in closing enterprise-wide complex sales solutions, by structuring innovative, integrated solutions that provide Executive, Publishing, Membership and Marketing decision-makers value and support in achieving their business goals.
Strong leadership skills and ability to influence others in the organization without a direct reporting relationship.
Comprehensive understanding of publishing, membership and marketing buying centers.
Demonstrate oral and written skills at an executive level; excellent communicator who is able to formulate, coordinate and implement account strategy and articulate the positive financial impact to a client organization.
High level of professionalism and integrity which builds trustworthy relationships both internally with Walsworth colleagues and externally with prospective clients.
Prior experience utilizing a corporate/enterprise-wide CRM tool.
Intermediate to advanced competence in Microsoft Office.
